You have a Snapchat username and nothing more to go on.
Snapwave takes that username and opens the account behind it.
Their Best Friends come out ranked, with the top name at #1.
Their snap score sits beside the list, and the picture is complete.
Four questions come up before a first search. Snapwave answers them here, one per section, in simple words.
What trips people up before they even begin?
Snapwave
Display names don't work. Snapwave needs the username, the handle that sits after the @ on their profile, and one wrong letter sends the lookup to a different account.
Do this instead: copy the username from their profile or from your chat with them, then paste it on the following page.
Who is it for, and who should pass on it?
Snapwave
Use it for
Seeing the Best Friends list behind a username you already know.
Reading a snap score next to that list, in one view.
Do not use it if
You want to read their chats or open their snaps: it shows a list and a score.
You only know their display name, not the username.
Good to know
Snapchat updates Best Friends often, so a list can change from one week to the next.
A Snapscore only goes up: Snapchat offers no way to lower or reset it.

Where you meet it: under their name on their profile, and the one thing Snapwave asks for.
Best Friends
What it is: the up to eight people an account snaps and chats with most.
Where you meet it: as a ranked list in your Snapwave result.
#1 Best Friend
What it is: the person at the very top of that list.
Where you meet it: the first row of the result, marked with a heart.
Snapscore
What it is: a number Snapchat builds from snaps sent and received, Stories and other things.
Where you meet it: under the name on a profile, and next to the list on Snapwave.
Before: a username and a guess.
Now: their Best Friends list and snap score, side by side.
